| Welcome | A Bit About Us | A Quick Tour of Our House | How Much, Where & How |
A Bit About UsShiona & Mike converted Shepherds Croft from being a "Bank Byre" (a type of barn) into a large house in 1989, doing most of the work themselves. The house is unusual in that there are two ground floor levels - because the bank into which the barn was built slopes, so that the rear garden and patio are higher than the cobbled frontage. The layout of the house is ideally suited to B&B accommodation - all the letting rooms are on the same floor and there is a separate residents lounge/ dining room. The house is very warm - the walls are 2 foot thick! - and all rooms have individually adjustable central heating radiators. We are only 50yds from the village Pub/Restaurant - The Black Swan. The residents Lounge/Dining Room is large enough for you to relax in comfort (see photo above). We have assembled a comprehensive collection of information on local tourist attractions - but we are always willing to help you plan your stay with some local advice (Mike is a member of the Local Mountain Rescue Team ). There is a range of games for you to play and in good weather you are welcome to sit in the conservatory or take your sunlounger onto the patio or into the garden. You can also borrow a book from our collection. Breakfast is cooked to order and is served at the time of your choice from 8 to 9am. In order that we can service the rooms for our next guests, we ask that you vacate your room by 11.00 am at the latest.
